While nothing is definite in hockey, the Vancouver Canucks have a huge advantage over the Boston Bruins in this year's Stanley Cup final. There are five key reasons why the Canucks should win, which we'll cover for the benefit of those who haven't been watching closely enough to already know this.
Despite finishing first overall, the Vancouver Canucks could very well have faced their toughest foe in the first roundthe defending champion Chicago Blackhawks. Though outscored 22-16, a Game 1 shutout and three one-goal victories helped them defeat their archrivals. Since then, they've cruised along at 8-3, soundly defeating their opponents by a combined score of 34-24.
While it's true that their second round opponents were the unspectacular Nashville Predators, who saw the second round of the postseason for the first time in franchise history arguably for no other reason than being fortunate enough to draw a lousy team that rode a lucky streak into the playoffs, they disposed of the legitimately mighty San Jose Sharks in just five games. The same factors that helped them defeat the Sharks apply almost equally to the Bruins.
